A saved report is a named Cost Insights view. It remembers the filters, grouping, metric, comparison, credits setting, currency precision, and date range on screen, so you can return to that view without rebuilding it. The control sits next to the Cost Insights title. Before you open a report it reads Unsaved view. After you open one, it shows that report’s name. An amber dot on the button means the view on screen no longer matches what was saved. Hover the dot for This view has unsaved changes. Cost Insights with the Unsaved view control beside the page title Changing filters also updates the address bar, which is enough to send someone the view you are looking at right now. A saved report is the named entry in this menu: it stays in the list, you can update it, and you choose whether the rest of your organization can open it.

What a saved report remembers

Opening a report restores the view, then loads the latest cost data for those settings.

Dates

If you save while a preset is selected, the report stores the preset rather than the calendar dates. Opening it later resolves that preset against today. Last 3 months saved in January still means the latest three months when you open the report in June. A custom range is pinned. Opening the report returns the same start and end dates you chose.

Opening a report replaces the view on screen and adds that report to the page address. Bookmark the address, or send it to someone in your organization. They can open it only if they created the report or you shared it with the organization. If the report was deleted, or they are not allowed to see it, Cost Insights shows That saved report is no longer available and drops the report from the address.

Update a report you own

Change the view after opening a report you created and the amber dot appears. Save changes shows in the menu only then, and only on a report you created. It writes the current view over that report. The name, description, and sharing setting stay as they are. You see Report updated. Open report with unsaved changes, Save changes, and the saved report checked in the list Save as new report… leaves the original alone and stores the current view under a new name. The new report becomes the one open in the menu. Use it when you want a variation of a report you already have open. On a report someone else created, Save changes is absent. Save as new report… notes You do not own this report. Save a copy to keep your changes.

Rename a report or change who can see it

Share with your organization

New reports are private. Only you see them under Saved reports, and only you can open a link to them. Turn on Share with organization when you save or rename a report to let every member of your organization open it. A globe marks shared reports in the list. A teammate who opens a shared report can look at it and choose Save as new report… to keep their own copy. They cannot rename it, save over it, change who it is shared with, or delete it. Those actions stay with the person who created the report.

Start a fresh view

Start a fresh view appears while a report is open. It stops treating the screen as that report. The button returns to Unsaved view, and the report is removed from the address. Your filters, grouping, metric, and date range stay as they are. You can keep exploring, or save the screen as a new report, without writing over the one you had open.

Delete a report

In the list, Delete appears on reports you own. Confirm Delete saved report?. Delete saved report confirmation The report is removed for you and for anyone it was shared with. The dialog states that this cannot be undone. You see Report deleted. If that report was open, the button returns to Unsaved view. The Cost Insights screen keeps the view you were looking at.

Who can do what

Name a report for the question it answers, such as “Production EC2, last 6 months” or “Credits excluded, year to date”, so the list stays easy to scan.
